Player's Charter

Rugby’s core values: teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.

All players will show respect to their team-mates, coaches, committee members, referees, officials and opposing teams.

Punctuality: All players will be required to arrive on time for matches, training nights, and social events. Players are also required to wear the appropriate attire - shirt and tie for league games. On social nights join in with the theme.

Training: Players must make an attempt to attend all training sessions, this will allow everybody to improve no matter what their skill and ability level, respect coaches’ and other player’s ideas when training.

Availability: All players will notify the captain of their availability for upcoming fixtures as soon as possible (its better to know on Monday/Tuesday rather than Saturday morning). Games and players must be organised beforehand.

Match Day: Water bottles, first aid kit, post protectors, flags, pitch rope, balls and ladder over the fence. These all need to be out and ready so be there on time and help. Put things away afterwards.

Membership Fees: Players are required to pay the fees due yearly subscriptions at the earliest opportunity, match fees in the club after the game.

Discipline: Players will always play the game to the best of their ability, within the laws of the game. They will respect the referee’s decision and any matters arising will be brought up through the captain.

Changing Rooms: Look after the changing rooms and do your bit to clean them; don’t skive off when it is your turn to clean them on the rota. Don’t leave it to the same few people every week; help out with ongoing maintenance jobs, the equipment is there for you… Look after it.

Social Events: Players will help with selling raffle tickets on match days, or grand draw tickets during the season. Attend as many social events as possible. Bring your wives and girlfriends along (but not together). This is, and always has been, a friendly club – let’s keep it that way!
